Introduction

OpenAthens stablish a trusted network where multiple organizations agree to share user authentication, making it easy for users to access digital resources across many institutions with just one secure login. It uses the concept of federations to grant users access to resources from various publishers and libraries, even if those resources don’t belong to their own organization, as long as both their institution and the service provider (Statista in this case) are members of the same federation (the OpenAthens federation in this case).

Prerequisites

  • Your institution is already using OpenAthens and you are part of OpenAthens's federation.
  • Access to the OpenAthens administration dashboard from you institution.
  • Confirmation from your Statista account manager that an account has been provisioned for your institution.

Process

Please collect the following information from your institution, required by our subscription management system and provide them to your account manager:

  • Domain.
  • Entity id.
  • Organization name.

Those fields are available in the OpenAthens administration dashboard of your institution under Preferences -> Organisation, as shown in the screenshot.
