Onboard an Institution Using EZProxy to Statista
This guide explains how to onboard an institution that uses EZProxy for accessing Statista resources.
Pre-requisites
Before starting the onboarding process, ensure the following:
- The institution has acquired an EZProxy hosted server or provisioned a self-hosted instance
- The institution has a configured public IP address for their EZProxy instance
Onboarding Steps
1. Request EZProxy IP Address
The client success manager should ask the customer for their EZProxy IP address.
2. Configure IP Access in CRM
Once the IP address is received:
- Open the institution's record in CRM
- Navigate to the
Special Rightstab - Add the proxy IP address to the allowed list
- Ensure
IP Accessis activated
3. Wait for Changes to Propagate
In the old world, the changes would be reflected after an hour.
Post-Onboarding: Institution Configuration
After Statista has configured the IP access, the institution needs to complete the setup on their end by adding the following stanzas to their EZProxy configuration:
Additional Configuration Considerations
As observed in recent interviews with customers troubleshooting their EZProxy configurations, additional configurations might be needed to allow the cookies required by auth0 in order to provide authentication under Statista 4.0.
Common issues to be aware of:
- Misconfiguration of cookie filter policies
- Domain issues caused by the rewriting proxy functionality
